Owner of one of the premiere jazz clubs in L.A.; The Crescendo. Also worked at KHJ, possibly & KLAC. He was a pioneer of presenting concerts of Jazz, Blues & the like, sort of a protege for Bill Graham. He created his Record label GNP Crescendo in the mid 1950's as a vehicle for his friends in the music biz, such as Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington & Miles Davis, just to name a few. His son, Neil still operates the label to this day.
