CREATOR OF 24 HOUR TALK FORMAT DIES

Ben Hoberman transformed ( KABC) a middle of the road station into the first 24 hour talk format in the country. The year was 1960. Hoberman died at age 91 of lung cancer. After the payola scandals which tarnished music radio, Hoberman invented the format that is popular today. In 1979 he was appointed President of ABC Radio.
